Blythe Fletcher (1890 - 1945)
Blythe was born in England and came to New Zealand in 1909 where he became a well-known Christchurch painter. Working mainly in watercolour and gouache his subject matter was taken from localities around Canterbury and overseas. His work is characterized by nostalgic, semi-romantic village and rural scenes. His art is very collectable within New Zealand, especially the Canterbury region. | |
